Faculty Assistants
Our Faculty Assistants play an essential role in our studio, contributing to the growth and success of our dance community. If you're passionate about dance, responsible, and enjoy helping others thrive, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position.
To be considered for the Faculty Assistant role, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be at least 10 years old.
- Be enrolled as an active dance student for the 2024-2025 season.
- Have been an active dance student during the 2023-2024 season.
- Be able to arrive at least 10 minutes before your assigned class time.
- Be able to assist in the classes in which you are assigned.
- Notify the class Instructor if you cannot attend a scheduled class (maximum of three absences without prior notice).
- Wear official dance studio attire and assigned dance shoes.
- Follow the directions of all studio Directors, Instructors, and Staff.
- Attend the upcoming Faculty Assistant training (dates to be determined).
Our Studio Director, Kristin Foltz Petrou, and Assistant Director, Sami Noel, will be selecting and assigning the classes to successful applicants. If chosen as a Faculty Assistant, you will receive the following benefits:
- One free Faculty Assistant shirt (additional shirts available for sale at an additional cost).
- Participation in the Faculty Assistant opening routine during our annual dance show*.
- Gaining the respect of students, parents, faculty, and staff-assuming, of course, it is earned.
- Acquiring valuable knowledge and experience that will look great in the eyes of parents, family, friends, and future employers.
*Please Note: In order to participate in the Faculty Assistant opening routine during our annual dance show, you must fulfill the following additional requirements:
- Have been a Faculty Assistant for two consecutive years.
- Take either Advanced Ballet and/or Intermediate or Advanced Jazz as a student.
- Be able to attend all mandatory scheduled dance rehearsals (dates to be determined).
- Pay or sell a minimum of $120 in ads for our program booklet to cover the cost of both your Performance Fee and additional classes needed to learn the Faculty Assistant opening routine.
